Sweet Salty Beef and Vegetables Stir Fry With Kecap Manis

  • 100 grams of sukiyaki-cut beef half of what you see in the photo above
  • 2 tablespoons kecap manis
  • 1 small carrot
  • 50 grams French beans
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons cooking oil


  • Cut the beef into strips about half an inch wide. Place the beef in a bowl, add the kecap manis and mix until all the beef strips are coated with the sweet soy sauce.
  • Peel and julienne the carrot (see how to julienne).
  • Next, trim the French beans and cut into halves.
  • Crush, peel and mince the garlic.
  • Peel and finely slice the onion.
  • Heat two to three tablespoonfuls of vegetable cooking oil in a frying pan.
  • Add the beef and vegetables to the hot oil all at once. Sprinkle with salt and lots of freshly-ground pepper. Stir-fry over high heat for two to three minutes or just until the beef changes color.
  • Serve at once or pack in a lunch box.
