Chocolate-kissed Muesli Cookies

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup Muscovado sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup applesauce
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 and 1/2 cups muesli
  • 21 Hershey’s kisses plain or with almonds


  • Preheat the oven to 375F.
  • Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl.
  • Beat the butter and sugars until fluffy. Add the egg and applesauce. Mix well. Stir in the flour mixture and the muesli. Mix until blended.
  • Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets about two inches apart. Flatten the tops slightly and push a Hershey’s kiss into the center of each cookie just deep enough to make a shallow indentation.
  • Bake in a preheated 375F oven for 13 to 15 minutes.
  • Transfer the cookies to cool in a wire rack.
