Ingredients

  • 2 to 4 suman sa ibus (day-old is better because they have dried out a bit and, ergo, easier to fry)
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons butter (that’s 1 tbsp. of butter for each piece of suman because you have to be generous)
  • honey
  • cinnamon
  • cocoa powder

Instructions

  • Peel off the suman wrappers.
  • Heat the butter in a frying pan.
  • Fry the suman over medium heat, rolling them in the hot butter occasionally, until a crisp brown crust forms.
  • Arrange the fried suman on a plate. Drizzle with honey, and sprinkle with cocoa powder and cinnamon.
  • Then, enjoy.

Notes

Two to four pieces of suman should be good for two people but… I ate all four. Maybe I was just really hungry. Or maybe it’s because they were really, really delicious. Or maybe, it’s both. What does it matter, really? If you have four and you feel like eating them all, go ahead. They’re soooo good.
