Sometimes, I wonder if feline DNA molecules have gotten mixed into mine. See, I love cream. In desserts, with meat, in my coffee… Type “cream” in the search box on top of the page, hit search and you’ll see how many recipes in my blog includes cream among the ingredients.
Does that make me a cat? I sure hope not although I am an avid cat lover. But even if I weren’t, I’d still love cream.
I even love cream in my cocktail drinks. Nothing really compares to the feeling as the smooth, thick richness touches the lips, engulfs the tongue and slides smoothly down the throat. This cocktail drink called Minty Madness contains not only cream but Bailey’s Irish Cream too.
Based on Alex’s cocktail recipes.
- 2 parts Bailey’s Irish Cream
- 2 parts creme de menthe
- 3 parts cream
- ice cubes
Just put all the ingredients in the blender, process to break the ice into small pieces then pour into glasses.
Enjoy the creamy, minty drink. In small sips at first to savor every sensation as the silky creaminess fuses with the refreshing coolness of the creme de menthe.
Creme de menthe comes in two colors: green and clear (if you can call “clear” a color). They are both made with corsican mint and they taste the same except that green creme de menthe is made with the leaves (ergo, the green color) while clear creme de menthe is made from the extract. They are often used interchangeably and I’ll leave it up to you to decide which one you prefer to use for making Minty Madness. Speedy used clear creme de menthe.
Good drinks are best enjoyed with good company. Human or otherwise. Such as? Minty Madness goes well with Anthony Bourdain’s Medium Raw.
