We put up the window blinds today. Okay, that’s not accurate. Speedy installed the window blinds. In the living room, in the dining room, my office… He had the electric drill in his hand before 8.00 a.m. and that was before I had a chance to fix breakfast.
By 10.00 a.m., he had finished ONLY ONE WINDOW (in the dining area) and he was pissed with the drill and the concrete. The concrete was too hard, he said, the drill bit was already glowing red and still wouldn’t go in. He put down the drill, blinds, nuts and bolts, and sat down.
He didn’t have to say it, right? I offered to cook lunch.
Sixteen and a half years of marriage does that to you. Needless to say, with the lunch issue out of the way, he finished installing the blinds in the living room and my office.
Speedy and Sam went out but when they get back, Speedy will install the blinds in Sam’s room and in the family room. Yes, I’m cooking dinner. Speedy can consider today his day off. Or cook exchange. Or something.
