We’re having a little family get-together tomorrow and I had been mulling over what drinks to serve. I really wanted to mix some punch so that everyone could just help themselves but I didn’t get the punch bowl I wanted (I’ve been searching for a drinks fountain, actually) so I set the idea aside.
Then, last night, someone taught me to mix the simplest drink ever.
Just rum, Seven-Up and ice. And it was great! Bubbly, sweet and mild, and exquisitely refreshing. I’m thinking of serving this drink tomorrow.
Who would have thought? When I was in college, rum and Coca Cola went together… but rum and Seven-Up? Better than rum and Coca Cola, I assure you.
- lime slices
- To make a glass of this bubbly rum and lime drink, throw about four ice cubes into a tall glass.
- Add one part white rum and three parts 7-Up.
- Drop in a couple of slices of lime (or lemon) and serve.
- Amazingly simple. Undeniably good!
