,,, six months later, another comment LOL ...
i adopt only male pets. i've had my fill of puppies and kitties that have died on me. i've had a total of 5 strays who have come and gone. i did adopt one stray white kitty ("Frankie" because of his blue eyes") for indoors (my poor furniture) until we got a puppy. we had to put Frankie outside since then. we don't have mice in the house because of the cats. every now and then we are "gifted" with half a rat (eek!) in our garden, garage or front door (yuck). now we have only rat-busting Frankie and our 3-year old ADHD minpin. and no kitty or puppy litters ever to break our hearts.
more power to your blogs, connie. you're so blessed. speedy is a wonderful husband to you, and your daughters Sam and Alex sound perfect. congratulations on achieving success!

Wow first time I heard a cat owner say the cats stay same after the procedure. Thanks for the info. Time to reconsider again. :)

Hi Connie,
Nah your cat, once neutered/spayed will not lose their swagger or hunting instinct. They'll hunt whether or not they lost their balls or tied up uterus! LOL The advantage is the toms stop pissing around which they use to do a lot during mating season, there's less cat fighting in the backyard and the females live a lot longer.
I learnt my lesson dearly when I lost my darling cat when her pelvic muscles gave out during her last labour after 10 years of litters. She could no longer push the remaining kittens out and we did not know until it was too late and her kittens died inside her and effectively poisoned her. *sad* My cats are now spayed and they are still with me after 10 long years, I"m reminded of that whenever they wake me up in the morning !
