It’s easy to understand why insects are a popular subject for macro photography. They are so tiny that the human eye cannot appreciate the details of their appearance. More than that, because they sense danger at the approach of humans, rarely will they stay still long enough for us to scrutinize them. The ability, therefore, to magnify them through camera lenses gives us a glimpse of things that the naked eye misses.

The first photo was taken with an Olympus MJU 720SW; the rest were taken with a Canon EOS 350D.
