Driving along the National Highway in Tanay, you will see a lot of signboards of government properties. Some are satellite offices; others are, well… this is a photo of a housing compound. The sign, and the security guard at the main gate, say the property belongs to the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). I don’t know who are entitled to use those houses but they sure looked picture pretty.

From a flower garden just behind the fence by the highway, the view was magnificent. Roads snaking through the mountains of Tanay were clearly visible.

That’s my daughter Sam, windblown hair and all, standing near the entrance gate.

We were about to board the car when I saw this snail. Its shell was cracked but it was very much alive.
