The All-Seeing Eye

all seeing eye

If you’re a fan of the movie Tomb Raider, as everyone in my family is, you’d be familiar with this symbol — the All-Seeing Eye. This sculpture is on the front door of the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros. In Catholic dogma, it is called the Eye of Providence which symbolizes a God that watches over all. What you might not know is that Christian symbology borrows heavily from much older belief systems and the Eye of Providence actually traces its roots to Egyptian mythology and the Eye of Horus, also known as the Eye of Ra.

is it true that the all-seeing eye was once part of an unfinished pyramid?
