Asian images of Buddha and a dragon at the entrance of Gourmet’s Cafe. The Buddha figure is common enough but the metal sculpture of the dragon is truly a work of art.

A couple of weekends ago, we visited two farms in Cavite — the Ilog Maria Honeybee Farm and Gourmet Cafe’s herb and vegetable farm. The cow photos were taken at neither location — we found them on an open field between the two farms.

The lonely hammock

hammockYears ago, I bought a hammock thinking it would be swell to read a book under a tree. I don’t know what I associated the idea with, I did not grow up in the province where things like these are nothing extraordinary. It just seemed so rustic and tranquil and, for a girl who grew up in the city, almost surreal. To my dismay, the droppings of the insects living on the tree kept falling on me.
