Skinny thorny legs

moth

I was renewing my love affair with Ian Dunross (in my mind with the face of Pierce Brosnan) when something swooped from out of nowhere. It landed on the wall beside me and I was so sure it was a moth until I downloaded the photo to my iMac and saw the thorny legs. Does a moth have thorny legs? I don’t know. But I know that I loved James Clavell’s Noble House when I first read it more than two decades ago, I’m re-reading it now and I’m loving it even more. Curious how one’s appreciation of the same writing changes over the years.

By the way, that’s a vertical wall you see in the photo. And I did not rotate the photo to make it appear horizontal. More like… executing some contortionist tricks to get a photo from a good angle and within an inch of the whatever-insect-that-is without scaring it away.

OOh, loved Noble House too. Have you read Tai Pan Sass? My father made me read those books, and I’m glad I did. I got my love for reading from him. In any case, you must be uber flexible to get that shot!
