Extreme scenarios in the 2010 elections

Four days ago, long-time blog-friend Mike Aquino posted his fearless forecast in Facebook:

Fearless prediction – sunspots will cause PCOS machines to glitch, leading to the short-lived Madrigal administration, EDSA IV, V, VI, and the decision by the world community to nuke the Philippines from space “just to be safe”.

And I replied that I’d migrate my family to Timbuktu.

Yesterday, I decided to put up a weekend poll (on the sidebar; voting ends on Monday) just to find out how this blog’s readers regard Jamby Madrigal. The question is: “If the presidential candidates withdrew and Jamby Madrigal were the only one left, what would you do?” The answers to choose from: 1) Join a new People Power revolution; 2) Move to another country; and 3) Nothing. I posted a link both from Twitter and Facebook. Not a minute later, there was a response from Randell Benavidez.

If Jamby Madrigal were elected Philippine President

And I added the response to the choices in the poll because, well… because it was so picturesque. I could feel the emotion emanating from the words like an unmistakable aura. The love for Jamby was overwhelming. Then, came another response.

If Jamby Madrigal were elected Philippine President

That’s from Sweet San Pedro. And that really made me realize how well-loved Jamby Madrigal is.

I’m watching the vote results and wondering how many will vote to “volunteer to work for her” before the poll closes on Monday.

In a political discussion with my friends, just like others, I would be asked the same question of who will I vote in this presidential election.

All I can tell them is I’ve not made my mind yet but definitely it will not be Jamby or Noynoy. They’re of the same cut.

  2. Trosp says:

Jamby or Noynoy as our country’s president – biggest joke in our country ever. Just like in US electing Obama.

    • mindyQ says:

yeah, as if McCain, Palin and the rest of the Republican Party are any better! Good luck to you! hahaha

      • pensortijas says:

        mindQ,

Your comment “yeah, as if McCain, Palin and the rest of the Republican Party are any better! Good luck to you! hahaha”

So where did McCain and Palin and other Republican failed? Care to share us your insights on that.

As for similarities of Noynoy and Obama:

        o Both are chain smokers.

o Both have no accomplishments and have no executive experience. I can even say Lito Lapid has more accomplishments than Noynoy (by a mile ika nga).

0 Both have questionable records that they will not divulge publicly. Obama and his birth certificate (Kano ba talaga sya?) while Noynoy on his psychiatric condition. (I don’t see any problem in disclosing one has undergone a psychiatric test specially if the result is negative but I see a problem if one that will rule a government is a psychotic).

o In his campaign, rather than dwelling in political issues, Obama was always highlighting the race issue and for Noynoy his being son of Ninoy and Cory. No accomplishment to show?

o Both are compulsive liars. How many times Noynoy lied on his stand on reproductive bill? His role on the security agency that he run during Cory’s presidency?

        o Both can’t tolerate criticism.

o Both thrive on attacking the personality instead of dwelling on the issues.

o Both have political issues which include church personalities. Obama and his pastor while it’s a priest from Ateneo for Noynoy.

o One of Noynoy’s agendas is to investigate and prosecute GMA for corruption once elected as president. (Can he not do that as a senator?). The same with Obama. he has promised on his campaign that he will investigate and prosecute Bush on his involvement on prisoner’s torture in Abu Garib and Gitmo.

There’s a lot more. Mapapagod lang ako sa kasusulat.

Remember Noynoy declared surveys can be bought in Quiapo when the survey results showed his popularity was dipping. Now most of the survey results are favoring him. He has declared that he is the elected president because of the survey results. He is cheated if he lose in this election sabi nya. Ganyan bang klase ang iboboto natin.

Try comparing Gibo or Gordon with Noynoy just to have a benchmark.

the cynicism and negativity of some Filipinos are beyond belief, that’s why we still remain impoverished. buti pa mga Indians, they refuse to believe that their nation is a third world $**t hole.

    • “the cynicism and negativity of some Filipinos are beyond belief, that’s why we still remain impoverished.”

That’s the cause and effect? Hmmm Mind sharing the basis for that claim? Personally, I think it’s lack of education, profitable skills and opportunities — all a consequence of an economic system that perpetrates unequal distribution of land, resources and wealth.

Lighten up, MindyQ, humor is good for clouded minds.

    • d0d0ng says:

      It is for fun. :)
I don’t believe there will be failure of election.
There are votes. They just need to be counted. Credibility is just a matter of opinion.

  4. VieL says:

I’m proud to say I didn’t vote for Obama but would vote for Noynoy if I could.

  5. Jhay says:

Too bad for the voters. Madrigal’s platform was more in line with the Left as represented by the MAKABAYAN coalition, concrete solutions to the some of the country’s age-old root problems.

    • You believe that she intends to live by them?

      • A says:

Considering that she is a product of the system–old-wealth, landed elitists–I highly doubt her “leftist” leanings.

        • My sentiments, exactly. Easy enough to “borrow” any advocacy to build up one’s image but the fact that she raised hell over the inheritance issue makes me think she is really deep into the “old rich with all the appurtenances” culture.

    • d0d0ng says:

And Jamby who went to court and lost the fight for inheritance money she did not work for. Next will be your taxes.

      Timbuktu is better option.

  6. kulasa says:

Ja-ja-ja-Jamby – no that’s not her old tune – it’s me cringing just imagining she’ll be President. And in the words that the Filipino youth express themselves today sums it all up- “DUH, feeling!”

  7. Twin-Skies says:

    Nuke us from orbit?

    Are you mad?

What 1st-world nation would be willing to waste their time on a country whose GDP is probably worth less than the ICBM they have to go through the trouble of lobbing?

    XD

    • Trosp says:

      XD or Twin Skies,

Could it be the remark is just a parody. BTW, how much do you think an ICBM cost?

BTW again, why is this 1st word nation has been trying hard to financially support 3rd word countries such as Pakistan or maybe this Hamas group? What is their gain?

      • Twin-Skies says:

        @Trosp

        My apologies.

I forgot to add the “/sarcasm” tag in that comment, although I was under the notion that the tone was self-evident XD

  8. Trosp says:

Ha ha ha Twin_Skies, I would say that in our country, self -evident is not self-evident.

Your comment has just arouse my curiosity.
