my hubby gifted me with a global g-2 chef's knife last sunday (he knew i've been dreaming of having one). i love the lightness of the knife and the way it comfortably feels in my hands. i felt a lil bit guilty because of its price but when i began using it the guilt feeling was instantly forgotten and was immediately replaced by pleasure. :)

very sharp indeed! i already "baptized" myself with 1 small cut on my left index.

during my window shopping / extensive research / hinting to hubby for the ultimate knife, i noticed that european-made ones are heavier than japanese ones. i prefer lighter.

i agree with connie, one does not need a lot of knives. a good quality, well-taken-care-of knife is for lifetime use (this is for those who shudder at the thought of spending a bit on this valuable kitchen tool). always make sure too that it is well-maintained by keeping it sharp and clean. a sharper knife is safer since you don't need to exert too much effort / pressure in using it thus preventing slips and other accidents.

They have so many great items there. I also bought silicone tongs for P950 and a multi-grater for the same price. Will post pics soon.

I dont know much about knives and always end up yearning for those that I see on the foodnetwork or on AFC. These are actually very cheap and I hope the non-sale price are affordable as well.
