On December 30, a holiday, we picked up my mother for a day of eating and shopping. We did the same thing last year — treated her to lunch while she took the girls shopping for Christmas gifts. The drive from the boondocks to my mother’s house on the northern end of Metro Manila was long and boring. Traffic was bad in areas within a two kilometer radius of shopping malls. I was getting listless and drowsy when Speedy pointed out a house we had just passed — a house with truly eye-popping colors. Even the pedicab driver couldn’t resist staring. The house was THAT bright.

Once my G10 was out of my bag, I was suddenly wide awake.

I noticed a tricycle that was almost covered with balloons…

… and the bridge in bright yellow and green.
I figured I’d create a whole blog post about “bright colors”, as I am in fact doing right now, and end the post with this photo which I took several weeks ago:

It’s a hair salon in Antipolo. As the sign says, it is called “Quolor It Green Salon”. Okay, I understand that a business name has to be unique and catchy. But quolor? QUOLOR? Seriously now…

parang short for Que Horror lang, Miss Connie!
hahahahaha I think that captures the essence.
