My chinese aunts always say that it’s okay to follow some of the traditions, but not if it wreaks havoc with the rest of your life already (that’s if your life’s not already in chaos hahaha). So, you know, if the door isn’t facing the right direction, we don’t have to tear down the whole house. hahahaha

My family call fortune cookies as “self-esteem cookies” now. It’s an inside joke among us because you don’t get “fortune” on them anymore. They’re anecdotes that touches the ego.. LOL. Things have changed.

It is really funny! In hindsight, investments at stock exchanges and mutual funds are done too by manghuhula but with catchy names. People tend to spend money on something they think they feel good about.
