Last night, after dropping the girls off at the condo, I checked my watch while we were driving along Ayala Avenue and I told Speedy it was still early enough to catch CSI: Miami on AXN. Speedy replied, “Ma-traffic,” and started to drive slower. I giggled.
The truth is, Speedy would rather sleep than see David Caruso’s posturing as Horatio Kane in CSI: Miami. But, last night, he was still awake when CSI: Miami went on. And he went online — definitely not to Google “Horatio Kane” nor “David Caruso” — placing his MacBook Pro between his face and the television. I am not without pity and consideration. I switched channels. It was a replay, anyway.

Awwww… cute naman..
I am a HUGE fan of CSI. Maybe am weird but i like CSI miami more than CSI las vegas… I like the VIVID colors and bacckground in the show and they have a better storyline than CSI las vegas…
Alex and I were just talking about those vivid colors over the weekend. I told her they probably use orange camera filters which really make the sky and sea bluer, and the overall tone much warmer. Nice trick, actually. The directors know their tech stuff hehehe
Off topic Ms connie, do you watch MASTERCHEF AUSTRALIA.. i love..love.. love THE SHOW.
I don’t think we get that with our Dream Satellite subscription…
Unfortunately, it’s not shown by any TV cable providers here in manila. I have to download it from torrent sites. While i DO NOT download any movies from the internet, i admit i do download TV shows and series coz i get to watch them a day after they are shown in other countries..
Now I know why the title of the show is not even remotely familiar.
palaging pa-side view si horatio pag nakikipag-usap….
i watch CSI: Miami for the fluff— i like eric the diver and calleigh the bullet girl….
ang galeng sa Miami– they solve crimes the same day they take place! compared to the two others in the franchise: it has a “comics”-y feel
It seems to me the first time I’ve read in the comment on your blog about CSI that there are also those who like CSI Miami. Of course, not because of D. Caruso, but then, perhaps, how the story run.
For me, it’s just like watching “24″ series. Something that is beyond reality but something that you want to see yourself to be identified with the situations in the episodes.
I can say that both Miami and NY are more entertaining to me than the LV series. The LV series , most of the time, are trying hard to be serious with their episodes, but it seems they’re overdoing it. Something that is similar with “Prison” and “Lost” IMO. Something, I would say, that their episodes do not have the indirect humor (or fun) that I like to see in TV episodes.
Nevertheless, I like D.Caruso because of his uniqueness in portraying Horatio. Firm, resolute. His always showing himself in side view always remind me of Jack Bauer with his way with his words – “trust me”.
(An OT one, where have I read this collections of Jack Bauer ways with his words -
“I’m federal agent Jack Bauer and today is the longest day of my life…”
“I’m gonna need a hacksaw…”
“Kim, I want you to point the gun at his chest and pull the trigger now.”
“You’re gonna tell me what I wanna know, it’s just a matter of how much you want it to hurt.”
And my favorite -
“The only reason that you’re conscious right now is because I don’t want to carry you.”
Cheers…
Not a fan of the posturings of David Caruso. And for me, original will always be the better show when Grissom was still there. I stopped watching when he left. As time has gone on, I have really lost my taste for procedurals though and have stopped watching almost all procedurals. I’ve recently started Castle bc of Nathan Fillion — was a fan when he was in Firefly. And even that makes me groan with the paint-by-numbers mystery.
I never really liked CSI: Miami, and now I agree that indeed, David Caruso is creepy most of the time. It’s hard to tell if he’s being mad, lustful or simply going to drop dead.
My favorite would still be CSI: Las Vegas. I just love Brass and his sharp lines.
David Caruso or H? We know that David Caruso is a person and H is a role.
And where is this Brass in the role call of people in Hollywood?
Well, of course it’s your opinion….
Hah, I know your answer. It’s irrelevant.
Actually, since you asked a question, whatever Jhay’s answer will be relevant.
I was just quoting him from his previous comment.
My comment in your another blog was -
“BTW, are you sure that there is no updated release of that National Security Study Memorandum 200?”
And his retort was -
“It’s irrelevant if there’s an updated release of the memorandum or not, for it’s been an integral part of US foreign policy since it was first released.”
Maybe to be sarcastic with it on my part is something that is uncalled for. Nevertheless, each to his/her own medicine.
marielle, the one thing I love CSI: Miami is the setting. I love the beach houses hehehehe
pinayhekmi, I saw one episode of Castle once. Star World, if I remember correctly. I think it was scrapped here soon after.
Jhay, “lustful” hahaha Horatio seems to have no sexual quality at all
In fact, when it turned out he had a son and the mother is played by Elizabeth Berkley, parang, wow, seriously, pinatulan nya si Horatio? hahaha
“lustful” hahaha Horatio seems to have no sexual quality at all…..
I agree Ms connie.. I like the houses too.
But there is a sense of quiet about HORATIO KANE that i like.. LOL
I like CSI but not Horatio Kane.
Especially the weird way he ends sentences. Sounds more like a pause than a stop. Parang may kadugtong pa dapat pero wala na sya.
And so funny the way he always have to put on his sunglasses before leaving the scene or ending an episode. Parang dapat sexy ung dating pero hindi eh. Pati ung boses nya hindi ko mawari.
I like CSI las vegas. Yung mga characters na involved sa crime interesting kasi nga Vegas ung setting so typically anything goes.
OMG. this is hilarious! my hubby doesn’t like H’s one-liners and predetermined moves either! he’s more into Mac Taylor of CSI NY. Sometimes, just to spite me, he would imitate Horatio’s moves. Much to my delight! Me, i so adore H. And Mac. I am beginning to like Ray Langston, too. I stayed up late just to watch the CSI Trilogy last Wednesday.
If I’m not mistaken, that trilogy was being claimed in the advertisement by AXN as for the first time. It’s not.
Maybe it’s the first time with Fishburne.
Nevertheless, the plot was superb.
If I’m not mistaken, Ray Langston is a major role in CSI. He he he, I’ve watched how he got involved in CSI and based on that, he could be the lowest in the pay grade or rank among the major casts in the plot.
These CSIs as compared with other TV drama series is a really different one:
- Has anybody noticed that never in any series they’ve used the regular landline in communicating with each other even inside their building? Compare that with Law and Order series.
- Oh, and they can always find the perpetrators and victims within a minute complete with details whereas in Law and Order, oftentimes, it’ll take half of the time of an episode.
- Most of the time, the settings are all perfect.
- Why it is that it seems almost all the settings in their headquarters are in the evening. BTW, if one would notice it, the duration of solving a crime in an episode is like the “24″ TV series. It seems it is taking too long but it is one or two day duration.
The appreciation of course of what we are watching is to the eyes of the beholder. I like to watch CSI. For me, it’s part of the appreciation to consider TV shows can be a surrealist.
