Check the manufacturer's instructions -- it says cut the food to 1-inch cubes or small. And blenders need liquid to work; otherwise, the motor will burn. If you want to puree an apple without adding liquid, you'll need a food processor, not a blender. As to apple skin, you'll have to ask your baby's pedia if kids can digest that.
