They don’t even have names yet but they have already changed our lives.

The white Persian kitten is male; the gray one is female. Milo and Kida, Mac and Apple, Verdana and Tahoma… well, we haven’t decided on their names yet.
Why do I say that they have changed our lives? Well, because Speedy never felt any affection for the cats we had in the past — the stray ones we adopted. They were terrified of him. When he came out of the bedroom, the cats would scamper to the garden.
But now, Speedy’s like a new daddy. He lets the kittens sleep on his tummy. He buys their accessories. He plays with them. He feels anxious when they’re out of sight. He doesn’t scream when they make a mess…
Last night, the male kitten tried to jump on my lap, didn’t make it and started to slide down my thigh. The pesky thing hung on with his nails. He gave me scratches galore on my left thigh. I called him, “Asar” and, from the bedroom, Speedy shouted, “Bawal pagalitan!” He’s a changed man. And that means the entire household is more relaxed because he is less irritable with the kittens in the house.

aww. Butch was like that too. He hated cats and in fact we had a long discussion before we got married. My pet cat couldn’t live with us, he insisted. Look at him now, spoiling our 2 cats, treating them just like any member of the family.
uy galing – talaga nagbago si speedy? bili ka pa ng sampung kuting na galing sa iran.
paano yan pag nalahian yang persian meow ng native? persian pa rin ba ang tawag sa mga magiging anak nila?
noemi, “spoiling” is the appropriate description. hehehe last night or, rather early this morning around 4, i heard the cat whining somewhere in the house and i asked speedy to check what was wrong. amazing, but he actually got up and went out of the room to check. hehehe
bakit naman galing iran, batjay? hindi nya papalahian ng iba yang persians na yan, naku. parang tatay na nagbabantay yan sa mga liligaw sa anak.
Wow they both look so adorable. The one on the right reminds me of my classmate’s cat
Hi Chase. Yes, they are.
We love them to death hehehe. The gray one, on the right, preens when she walks hehehe.
Hmmmm… what about Mac and Apple?
ayyy… my personal favorite.
ei since you like cats, maybe you’ll be interested in adopting some cats from PAWS (mefindhome.blogspot.com)
The cats are so cute! We are more of a dog-loving family than a cat-loving one. One thing though, a cat wouldn’t be able to survive our pit bull who managed to bring death to neighbors’ cats, at least 2 or 3 of them. My eldest daughter is the one who bathes the dog.
cyberpunk, ummm… we’re a little crowded already, i think.
julie, speedy has been pining for a pit bull for as long as i can remember. but it’s too vicious a breed for me.
mayroong malaking pet food recall ngayon dito sa america. better make sure about the pet food you buy dahil alam mo na, baka mayroong mga resellers na siraulo na gustong ibato ang mga recalled product diyan.
Re pit bull, they are really people-friendly have a nice disposition, but very, very makulit. Imagine, our 2yo pit bull, getting the tsinelas we leave outside the doors whenever he enter the house, grr! It really depends upon how they are treated which makes them vicious at times. Ours just hates cats but loves the poodle pup we borrow from my MIL and bring home on weekends.
batjay, anong brands? kasi sa cartimar may nagtitinda ng tingi. sabi friskies daw pero syempre malay namin, di ba?
julie, talaga people-friendly sya? i wonder if a pitbull can learn to live with persian cats. speedy’s second choice is a pug. but i don’t like its face.
Verdana?! Wehehehe. How about Div and Span? Hahahahaha Don’t mind me, naming pets isn’t one of talents. After all, I did name one of my dogs Choknat!
Gail, we finally named them — Peanut and Jelly hehehehe mala Choknat?
I love macs so I’ll probably go with Mac and Apple, but I have to say, Verdana and Tahoma cracked me up.
Pinoymaclover, hello. This will sound ummm… a day or after we finally named them Peanut and Jelly, my older daughter renamed them Salt and Pepper which I think are more suitable names — very descriptive. No changes since. I must admit though that I was partial to Apple and Mac too.
Salt and Pepper is quite apt for them, I think. You know, this discussion reminds me of a friend who, not being able to come up with a name for his particularly long daschund, just ended up calling it “mahabang aso”. Anyway, congratulations on the lovely kitties. May they bring you lots of happiness (instead of ruined upholstery).
