Me, dreaming

Sam and I were having brunch earlier. Part of the conversation went like this.

Me: “I want to build a bigger house.”

Sam: “Where will you build it?”

Me: “In that huge empty lot with the old tree.”

Sam: “Go build it.”

Me (in complete dream mode and ignoring Sam’s last comment): “The design of this house is okay, we just need to extend it by one meter on ALL sides.”

Sam: “One meter ONLY?”

Me: “Hey, that’s a big thing. Your room will be larger by six to eight square meters. Me, I want a larger kitchen. And a larger office.”

Sam (eyebrows raised and eyes wide): “Your office is already the largest section of this house.”

Me: “No it’s not. The kitchen is.”

I fixed myself a cup of tea then I went up to my study/office and surveyed the floor area. It is equal to about three-fourths of the combined areas of the living and dining areas below. I guess Sam is right. It is the largest section of the house, excluding the garden. I figured maybe I don’t really want a bigger house — I’m just itching to redecorate. Ahhhh, if only redecorating a house is as inexpensive and as fast as changing my blogs’ designs. So perhaps I’ll just change the blogs’ looks to get rid of the redecorating itch.

End of dream.

hmmm… redecorating sometimes cost more than building. then again, it doesn’t have to be expensive. you just need to know what to do, how to do it, where to source the materials and how to work the materials to make everything look, work and suit your dreamt intentions. i’ve got lots of ideas and no money… hahaha

You could do it cheaply at Dapitan :-)

wow! that is one great pic of mayon volcano! i haven’t quite captured it that way. my mother is from there, and when we were a kid, we would go at least twice a year. :)

I always envy those shows on the Lifestyle channel where random people (or did they audition/send entries to get considered?) get house makeovers. Lucky people (and hay, life in the third world). Currently shopping for a house — would love a decent work space and a nice kitchen — alas for savings and the budget to consider. :)

  5. Jill, I hope you find one that you’ll love and that’s just right for your budget. I thought we’d never find one but sometimes you find yourself at the right place at the right time.
