About a month ago, I realized I had developed an allergy to eggs and chicken. It has happened once before when I was in grade school and I got over it after a couple of months. So, I’m pretty sure that it’s only a matter of time before this darn nuisance allergy goes away just like before.
Giving up chicken was bad. I miss grilled chicken.
Giving up eggs was worse. I miss omelets. I bake cakes, cupcakes, muffins and cookies for the girls but I can’t eat what I bake. I can’t make nor eat ice cream either.
But probably the worst part was giving up sandwiches slathered with mayonnaise. A sandwich just isn’t the same without mayo in it. Just like macaroni salad and potato salad — what are they without mayo, huh?
Yeah, poor me. Forced to go on a diet.
The photo was taken aboard the Royal Caribbean’s Legend of the Seas. Good thing I had no egg and chicken allergy when I went on that cruise.

Connie,
Can you have yogurt? It’s an excellent substitute for mayonaise. I can attest to this with my potato salad recipe. Can you get lite yogurt there?
Doddie
I haven’t tried tried eating yogurt since this darn allergy started. I’ll try it.. Thanks.
Here in the Netherlands you can buy a product by the name of Yogonaise. Intended as a light alternative to mayo. In my opinion, it is not bad, but I prefer Olivonaise (next to the mayo on the other side on the shelf).
Thanks for putting in your time!
I use Vegenaise. Its a Vegan alternative to mayonaise. These are the ingredients: Canola Oil, Filtered Water, Apple Cider Vinegar, Brown Rice Syrup, Soy Protein, Sea Salt, Lemon Juice, and Mustard Flour.
