There’s a drill bit specifically used for mortar. My husband once tried drilling through bricks using a regular drill bit. He was unsuccessful to say the least.

Yes it’s been a endless and fruitless exercise in futility. I try to avoid tampo at all costs but I think that is one of the genetic legacies of Pinays (or is it learned behavior) hahaha

I’ll make sure to bring my cordless hammerdrill with lots of drill bits when I go home next time. I will leave it at home in Antipolo just in case you and Speedy need to borrow it.

Tell Speedy to use carbide tip drill bit. Inorder to determine the right dept put a masking tape on the bit.If Tapcon bit is available, thats what to be use. Don’t forget to put slug to the hole before screwing it. I wish I can send you some bit. If you can wait a month, I can send you some bit.
