I was about to shut down my computer when Speedy handed me a mug of Spanish coffee and I felt compelled to blog about it. As I was sipping the delicious drink, my iPhone’s text message alarm went off. Alex. It was close to midnight… what the heck could she want?
The message was:

PANGATLO, ‘di lahat ng ngipin mo ay abot ng dila mo.
PANG-APAT, susubukan ng mga tanga ang pangatlo.
PANG-LIMA, inisip mong abot pala ng dila mo lahat ng ngipin mo, nung sinubukan mo.
PANG-ANIM, napangiti ka kasi nagmukha kang tanga.
PANG-PITO, ipapapasa mo ito sa iba para maka-ganti ka.
Now, let me translate that.
SEVEN truths in the world:
FIRST, your eyes are the only things you can’t wash with soap.
SECOND, you can’t count all your strands of hair.
THIRD, not all of your teeth can be reached by your tongue.
FOURTH, you will try to do number three.
FIFTH, you realized that you can indeed reach all your teeth with your tongue after you’ve tried it.
SIXTH, you smiled because you looked like a fool.
SEVENTH, you will pass on this message to get even.
I don’t know what smart person came up with that list but he must be psychic. Because — of course — I did exactly what the list said and I did each thing described in every item instinctively, starting with number three, while reading and feeling like a total fool as I came upon the next item. You can just imagine how I felt when I got to number four. And it got worse. And so on, and so forth.
My first generation iPhone cannot forward messages so I’m forwarding the list via this blog.
