Frances, the number of signatures will be used to petition the various authorities that have jurisdiction over internet affairs, including the US Congress where a lobby is planned. It's in the website. The million signatures is supposed to show that child porn on the net is a global concern and people are not being apathetic to the issue. so, it isn't mere symbolism.
I am a very big supporter of this campaign. I think it's also imperative for everyone to familiarize themselves with NCMEC's Cybertipline which allows you to report suspicious behavior online.

Hi, its sickening to see these sites proliferate. Probably the problem need be tackled at the core where these things originate. We all must put our hands together to stop this chrime. There are hundreds of websites publishing the material. Plz do something before it gets worse.
