GIMP and X11 on your Mac

Last night, I did something I thought I would never ever do. I got rid of Adobe Photoshop CS2. I have had it. It slowed down the system endlessly. I backed up my files in an external hard drive and reinstalled Mac OS X. After the installation, I just let the system download all the upgrades while I slept. And when I woke up, I downloaded GIMP.

It’s not the first time I tried to install GIMP on my MacBook. I tried it about two weeks ago, couldn’t figure out the X11 angle and gave up. I was more determined today. I read up and found very detailed instructions on how to get GIMP working with Mac OS X.

You will find illustrated instructions here and here. And more explanations here. After that, GIMP is ready.
