We were in U.P. Los Baños and Tagaytay earlier today, a kind of spontaneous thing, we left at the crack of dawn and before I could submit my column for Tuesday’s paper. Work is work, just because it’s a school holiday didn’t mean I had an excuse for not submitting my column. So, after lunch, I moved to another table and worked. For 30 minutes, I wrote my column (yes, we brought laptops and there was free Wifi). While I did, Sam decided to entertain herself, and her father, by taking photos. Like this.

And this.

And this. Alex was sleepy and didn’t look too happy to serve as her sister’s model.
Then, Sam probably got tired of her human subjects and decided that a lemon was more interesting. What lemon? The skins of the lemon wedges that I had earlier squeezed onto our chicken tikka.
Okay, watch the lemon.

Sam had just dropped it from a height right into the glass of water that was already cloudy with I don’t know what.

She dropped the lemon with her left hand and, with her right hand holding the camera, she clicked to freeze the splash of the water as the lemon broke into the surface.

And she did it again.

And again.

And again.

Until she was happy that the splash couldn’t get any better.

Good thing I finished the column within 30 minutes. Otherwise, the tabletop would have been soaked with splashes of water. Good thing too that we were the only customers. Otherwise, people might have wondered who the weird people were.

Mukhang nalugi si daddy sa second pic.
Loka ka talaga HAHAHAHA
Uy DTRI fresh milk — yum!
Err nice pictures too hehe Sobrang deprived na ko nang LB kaya tumataktak sa isip ko e yung bote sa background.
How I wish we could do spontaneous trips like this, too.
Aha! I’ll be posting the UPLB pics soon. Gotta crop and resize first.
Cool! Just saw the new kapok photo
Whoooah! Great pictures ni Sam.Ang galing!..and may I ask, saan kayo specifically located during this time when the pictures were taken? Saan sa UPLB?
Hindi sa UPLB yan, sa Tagaytay. Suspense muna kasi I will write a separate post in the food blog.
Good experiments. The first one reminds my of one of the first Tagalog phrases I learned – pango ng ilong mo!
Compliments to Sam.
I like the idea of Sam with Mr.Speedy’s sunglasses kaya lang di ba na conscious si Mr Speedy?Sobrang close up,kita na ang kaluluwa!:D Mabuti na lang (siguro bagong facial si Boss) walang black heads! LOL!
Nice pix Sam!
Hindi sya nagpapa-facial. Sadyang makinis daw sya. DAW. hehehe
Yey! LB is my hometown. Ms Connie, do you know that there are a lot of small restaurants in LB nowadays? Like Mio Cucina, Faustina’s, Bonito’s, etc. Have you tried one of those? Btw, your family is really good in photography!
Not yet. I should ask readers who are from LB to send in recommendations. We only go to DTRI and that’s about it.
Sometimes, what’s truly great about a photo is the behind-the-camera story. In this case, you and your daughters share a common interest. Not a lot of parents can say that about their teenagers.
You guys inspired me to set up my own site for my photos. ‘Just hope they measure up. Thanks.
“You guys inspired me to set up my own site for my photos. ‘Just hope they measure up.”
It’s not really the technical aspect but the ability to express that makes great photos, I think.
