One of the biggest challenges that our new house presents is the treatment of curved windows. We have two — one in the master bedroom and the other in Alex’s bedroom directly above it. The windows are so beautiful and so wide offering a panoramic view of the outdoors and I really don’t want to ruin them by treating them as though they were regular windows.

The obvious solution, of course, is to use bendable curtain tracks and gliders best suited for the design of the curtain. But the available bendable tracks in local stores are just sooo yesterday, you know? In fact, they’re exactly the type that were installed in the living room of my family home, the one built by my parents. Meaning, the design date as far back as the 1970s when I was a little girl.
What I did was to call up my cousin, a licensed interior designer, to ask for tips. What other options do I have? She told me that curtain makers can make customized rods or poles for special windows like the curved ones we have. That means it is possible to install double curtain rods so that we can have a sheer curtain behind a heavier one. It pays to ask before making final decisions.
