traditionally raw, the number of eggs to be used in preparing carbonara should always be even. one piece of egg for each person to be served and that there should always be another one offered for the &#039;gods&#039;. so if there are four persons to be served, plus one for the &#039;gods&#039;, there&#039;d be five. therefore, we need to add another one to make it an even number 6 (should always add, not deduct).and that carbonara is garnished with lots of pepper to make it appear black and white where the name carbonara was derived.
