Just a couple of weeks ago, there was this chicken that somehow got inside the house and flew off through the open door of the second floor balcony. Yesterday, while I was cooking lunch, Alex, who was on the phone upstairs, suddenly started screaming that a bird was inside the house. If I weren’t worried about leaving the chicken on the stove, I would have gone up right then to take photos. But I couldn’t leave the chicken so I stayed put.
Alex stopped screaming after a while and went on talking on the phone. About half an hour later, she went down and we had lunch. Then, I took a shower. I went to my study, placed my cup of hot coffee on the desk and started downloading the photos of the chicken dish that I cooked for lunch. Alex came out of her room and pointed to the bird that was still inside the house. I was really surprised that it was still there and I told Alex so. She said the bird tried to get out earlier, hit the glass window beside the staircase and bounced off. “Bird-brained, you know,” she said.
I couldn’t interrupt the download so I told Alex no sudden movements so as not to scare the bird away until the download was finished and I could get a chance to change camera lenses to take photos. The bird stayed where it was.

Right on the cable of the pendant lamps above the stairs. But it was too far. I moved closer, very slowly, and zoomed in.

Okay, I thought the photo was good enough. But the bird was against the light so I moved some more trying to find the best angle. Apparently, the bird thought that I was getting too near and it felt threatened. It flew off, alighted on my coffee cup some ten feet away then went out through the open window of my study.
Then, I saw my coffee cup. It was my turn to scream.

The effing bird pooped. Right there in my coffee cup. I guess it was smart enough to take revenge on me for being so threatening. Or maybe it got too scared and just pooped involuntarily. Whatever. Alex was nice enough to get me another cup of coffee.

’tis another case of “i don’t get mad, i get even!” lol
Except that it got even with me! hahaha
Bird-brained, eh? He showed you!
Yeah, and how!
On the bright side, it didn’t pooped above you while you were to drink the coffee.
Saw it happened to a friend a few months back, and I tell you, she let out more than screams.
Yuck!!!!! hahahaha
alam mo sabi sa feng shui, pag yung house mo lapitin ng animals, maganda ang energy source doon. saka diba they say pag nakatapak ka ng poop or something about poop figures in your life eh pera yun? Connie, yayaman ka pang lalo!
Whoa. Ayos! At least there’s s positive side to these experiences pala! hehehe
Hehehe— not everyone who goes through this experience would take the camera and capture the sight — you are a real pro! Kahit nasa ganyang situation, ang galing pa rin ng shots… and about the bird poop… siguro nga na-threaten lang yung bird. Pero all’s well naman, perhaps it was just some kind of spice for the day, para hindi lang maging ordinary day!
You know me hehehe very few things are uninteresting.
Hehehe— you’re right!
Bird brained indeed! Our windows are like mirrors outside and many birds were fooled into flying through!but they are so resilient because after they bounced off I would see them continuing their flight except one time when one was accidentally impaled by the sharp thorn of our date palm…..so sad!Anyway, how did the chicken and the bird enter your house?Open doors?open windows?Ingat Ms Connie baka next time akyat bahay na yan!:)
