I read your food blog for a happy start to my day. Your Hizon's comments went beyond that. After 30 years, it's nice to know some things have not changed. You just made Friday feel like a Sunday, Connie.

hi connie, i just ate at banapple, mar. 2 tuesday. that night i really wanted to email you , but i was so sleepy, of course it was beacause all i hear was good raves...
i dont know, we ordered their hickory barbecue something and penne creamy, longonisa something too. just like you, i never remembered any of their real names. blueberry cheesescake and banofee.
And maybe just like you again, whenever i eat at a place, i try to taste and see .
what and how the meal was done" sounds familiar? and how feeling dissapointed if you think that you can cook better and feel so tricked if what they put was not enough to charge us heavily! are we of the same planet?
i remember my lola would always say that good cooks are noisy, meaning they say a lot about the food.oh well. she too was like that. here's my view of the food served , hickory was tender but the sauce i regard as a mixture of catsup and worsetershire and loads of sugar, was too sweet. youd think that you really are inside a bakeshop , the creamy penne was , yes creamy but you can taste the powder garlic that our relatives would bring us as pasalubong from abroad. the lakatan on the cake was a little too hard to savour.
well that was not the problem as there is always a first time and never.
the real deal was, howd i wish not to be so discriminating that when i eat outside i always become a critic and trying to analyze and put in mind whats in this and that so i can make it , next time.
and try to make it better.
truly this is bothersome and tiring at times right?
and oh yes nothing beats Hizons my lola said pre war pa she eats that ensaymada na.
but i miss them wrapped in cut rite.
tell me connie , are you also like this?
thanks a lot
