Everyday, I get e-mails from so many of you. Most are thank yous for creating and keeping this site; others are thank yous for posting particular recipes. And I really appreciate the notes you send — they are proof that I have, even in a little way, succeeded in promoting what seems to be the fast-fading art of home cooking. I especially love the notes from young wives who tell me they had never cooked before, how the kitchen has always intimidated them because they grew up with their mothers doing the cooking for the family but who have since found confidence with the easy to follow recipes on this site. And there are the wives and mothers who feel so good when their husbands and children eat their creations with gusto. I know how it feels. And I’m happy that I can make you feel what I feel everyday. Well, almost everyday, because like any cook, I do have bad days too and, sometimes, I create less than appetizing meals.
Now, I have this idea. If you’ve cooked recipes from this site, would you like to share photos of your masterpieces? I’m thinking of creating either a sub-blog or a category in this blog (depending on how many positive responses I get) to showcase your creations. They don’t have to be cooked exactly from my recipes. I know how cooks like to tweak and adjust recipes to suit their own tastes; it’s enough that the inspiration was drawn from a recipe in this blog.
If you’re willing to participate, here’s what you’ll need to send:
1) A photo of the cooked dish, at least 400 525 pixels in width (sorry for the change in size but larger will be more visually exciting);
2) Your name (or pseudonym); and
3) Your personal message or comment about the dish that you cooked.
If you’re a blogger, you may additionally send:
1) Your blog’s URL; and
2) The URL of the page where you have posted an entry about the dish you’re submitting indicating which of my entries inspired it (a link to that my recipe page will be nice but that’s entirely optional).
Send the photos and all the other information to i(at)connieveneracion(dot)com — just substitute the proper symbol and punctuation mark for the words in the two parentheses. As soon as I receive the first 20 photos, I’ll create the Home Cooks Gallery.
I really hope you can join in this little project because I’d really, really love to see and share the fruits of all our labors.

This a great idea! I’ll try to send a pic. Again, thank you so much for your recipes. Truly helpful.
Well I’ve only just discovered your blog so haven’t had much chance to read it yet, let alone try your recipes.
I’m glad to have found it though, and will keep checking back. I’ll be sure to let you know if I try anything!
Count me in. I have a couple of new ones adapted from your dishes. Actually, one was Speedy’s. His Tequila pork tenderloin. And I just cooked a steamed milkfish based from one of your steamed fish recipes
Hi! Can i submit the photos I sent you before?
Hi Ms. Connie,
This is a great idea! I haven’t updated my personal blog – http://mokstersmom.blogspot.com but I was meaning to post my entry about the Baked Macaroni I made for New Year’s Media Noche which was inspired by your own yummy post.
It’s so true how intimidated I was before in making baked pastas but because of your step by step recipe instructions, I was successful in doing my very first attempt in making a baked pasta dish.
I will send you the pics and info as soon as I have them uploaded from my cam.
Thanks so much!
Scott, well, hope you get to try some soon.
Phynkee, yes!! And the more the merrier.
Ester, Dex and Cathee, thanks, I’ll be waiting for the pics.
MS. Connie, wow, for MY cooking to be featured in YOUR blog? wow, that is awesome. I need to learn first how to take great food photos though.
Soloops, I think the only important thing is that the photos are real.
You know, what-you-see-is-what-we-ate.
Great idea Connie! I’ll send you the link and also have to update my blog to show the most recent inspirations i got from you!
wow connie this is great news…. i’m not a blogger, but i’ve been visiting your site for cooking ideas/recipe and most of the time took picture of it (if me and my hubby are not that hungry yet otherwise there’s no time to take pictures). i’ll surely submit my pictures.

Great idea
This is a great idea, Connie! What’s more, it’s a good reason for me to make more corn muffins (an old recipe you posted)… it was a flop at first, still don’t know what I did wrong, but I want to try again.
Great idea! I am your no. 1 fan! I always share your recipes to my friends esp. those newly weds that has no idea of cooking. I’m always excited opening my email and fond of trying your new recipes every week. My hubby & my kids just loved it esp. Steamed fish recipe and the herb loaded rice. Keep on inspiring us! Thank you & God bless!
Hi Connie,
I’m your avid fan and i’ve been trying your recipes for 6 months now although i can say that i’m a good cook myself (as described by my family and friends). But i must admit that i have learned so much from your recipes and my family enjoyed every dish i’m preparing. Thanks a lot. Hope to send you photos.
Just an update: I’ve created the gallery already.
It’ll be live for viewing within 48 hours.
I will send you the pictures as soon as possible!
Thank you SO much for your site.
Sayang! I have cooked a lot of dishes that I have picked up from your website but did not take any pictures. I still have the baked macaroni, with the topping that I got from your baked macaroni, will try to take a picture of that and see if it will come out as delicious as it tasted.
How exciting! I will be inspired to cook
.
Hi Connie! I am a new fan and discovered your blog few weeks back, what can I say~~I’m hooked!I check your site regularly for updates…I wanted to share tonight’s dinner sana for your project but the camera’s battery was empty!!!Anyway, I just want to salute you for this blog and for encouraging people to cook.I admire your talent and your patience~~more so when you answer even the simplest question posted. Keep it up!
Oj, LOL, some questions — the honest ones — are worth answering. There are others though, those just meant to annoy, that require a different treatment.
Hello Connie my first time to see this page. I’ll try one of your recipe. I’m not into computer stuff, I want to participate too but I need to know how.
FYI I’m a chef too ( Baker) Bread and Pastry. But mostly international so I wanna try some pinoy food. So I’ll try your recipes. Thanks.
This side project of yours is a brilliant idea. Igniting more ideas and at the same time, encouraging versatility and creativity. I’m always interested to see your pinoy recipes as I’m not familiar with them, I’ve tried one thus far! Will be trying out the corn muffins and corn bread soon and of course, there will be pictures if they’re worthy of it.
Keep it this good job up! Thanks =D
count me in connie, thanks po.
this is a great idea. I only hope that it doesn’t create too much extra work. What things can you do to make it easier for people to contribute, yet maintain editorial control (ie, nobody able to automatically post spam).?
I think I have a couple of posted entries in my blog that were inspired by your creation. Not quite sure though if I have the original files for higher resolution. If not, I need to cook them again hehehe
But you’re right. It really feels great when a reader tries a posted recipe. Hindi mo mapapansin pero napapangiti ka na lang habang nagbabasa….
Nate, I thought about that. But you know how it is. Some people will post to promote their sites even if their posts don’t qualify. Worse, some might use other people’s photos. It’s a problem that happened with Tastespotting.com a while back and it had to be shut down for a couple of weeks. So, I thought I’d do it this way.
Iska, o di ba, much better than those pages of press mention etc.
ehem… too bad i didn’t took photos of those adobo with swamp cabbage and the chicken with mango and yogurt recipes. maybe i will have the chance to cook them again in a few days, after all, i’m going home for good and i’ll most probably become the house husband, hehehe
Going home for good, Kotsengkuba? Is there a story there somewhere? If you’re going to be the house cook, I’ll be waiting for the pics.
what an opportunity!
im a very big silent fan of yours ms connie..me and my sister love browsing your site. cooking is something i will never get tired of. The ability to create new dishes and tastes excite me..thanks for having this wonderful idea..crossing my fingers..=) cheers!

ooh! hi tita connie, i want to also send you pictures. i always get inspiration form you but i never actually take pictures. the lighting at home makes everything take on a yelowish color. i tried taking pictures of a crepe cake i made, the cake was great, the pictures… not too great. i will now try to take pictures of all my finished dishes!
Hi Connie,
so glad that i’ve found your blog site, sayang, I didn’t take a picture of my clam and corn soup na niluto ko a couple of weeks ago, my husband liked it very much… thanks so much sa maraming recipes, now, hindi na ako mahihirapang mag-isip kung ano ang lulutuin, you’re just one click away in my computer desk.
Nits
ooh, I forgot to mention another dish from you that I cooked also, chicken in sour cream, my son Miguel ate it with gusto…thanks
