An ethnic Filipino graduation

the freshman high school students in an ethnic song number

The freshman high school students’ song number.

I’ve attended many graduation ceremonies, including mine. But my daughter’s grade school graduation program, with its profound message to our children, will always be worth a thousand memories.

What an original and thoughful ceremony. They must have put in so much time on preparation. Congrats to your daughter!

  2. rhodora says:

hi, sassy! congratulations! i can imagine how happy you were on your daughter’s grad… but wait till her college graduation.. your joy will be tripled ! lol…
yes, i agree, we must instill more awareness on our kids regarding care for our environment. and your daughter’s grad theme aptly fits the need. .. i wish other schools would try set their own on this trend – you know – coming up with relevant themes on their grad ceremonies – instead of inviting high profile personalities who do nothing but recite their achievements.. yuck… hehe

  3. Connie says:

yep, pinayhekmi, they practiced for 2 weeks. and they did the props too. :)

naku, rhodora, you said it! i hate it when school authorities politicize the graduation.

actually, i still have a hangover from the celebration mood hehehehe

  4. Joe Bariring says:

I couldn’t agree more with Rhodora. The place where I was born does not look in any way, shape, or form like the place I long to be! Run by ‘politikos’ whose main agendas are ‘sabong’, and where the ‘inuman’ will be for the night.

  5. Connie says:

Joe, the “sabong” mentality is so prevalent in the Rizal province. On a trip to Tanay about a year ago, we passed by dozens of farms for raising fighting cocks. The report I got was that they were owned by high ranking local government officials.

I used to live for 3 yrs at St. Anthony Subdivision in Taytay, three times a week I buy my groceries at the new Taytay market and some stuff at Tropical Hut.
Can you please post more photos of these areas, especially St. Anthony, Valley Golph, Antipolo, Taytay Market?
I used to traverse the Manggahan floodway everyday to Sta. Rosa, Laguna where Ford Philippines is located.
I travel a lot between New York and Ontario, BUT nothing beats my fun memories from the Philippines.
I really miss the Philippines. Thank you for this blog :)

  7. Connie says:

Oh, no worries, Ron. Since I live in Antipolo, there’s be lots and lots of Antipolo pics. And of nearby areas too. :)
