One thing that marked so much in me was the politicizing of Scriptures to pursue political agenda, which I think, is still very true up to today. There is enough historical events to tell who was distorting. For those who want to know more about Hypatia, there's an excellent and readable book "Hypatia of Alexandria" by Maria Dzielska (Harvard University Press, 1995). Not a review of the movie, but historical notes on the characters and events portrayed in the movie. An interesting and thoughtful review.
