For so many years, whenever we drove from Metro Manila to Tagaytay, we always exited South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Carmona, Cavite. About 10 years ago, we drove to Tagaytay at night, missed the exit and had no choice but to take the Sta. Rosa route. We’ve been taking the Sta. Rosa route since. And where there used to be a few roadside stalls and shops specializing in handcrafted solid wood furniture and home decor, they have multiplied. Over a 2 to 3 kilometer stretch, they are almost side by side today. The furniture look gorgeous and if we had bought the truck (it’s a Nissan Frontier — sorry, Speedy, it looks like a truck to me hehehe) a year ago, we could have gone there when we were furnishing this house.
And it isn’t just furniture that they sell there. They have sculptures fashioned from solid wood, small decorative items, wooden salad sets… I have no reason to buy any of them these days but there’s no harm in ogling and taking photos, is there?
